About time…
In my blog you will be able to find everything you want to know regarding every new release. From making off images, to lyrics, meanings and interesting stories about each project.And yes, every release is treated as a whole project!
I wrote back in time in Buenos Aires in October 2019. This song is actually the eight song in the album that as you can see was moved forwarded in the cue to the first spot. Why? It just felt right, I think it is a beautiful song with an interesting message that has everything to fulfill all important areas in a release.
The song is about how we as humans are always dreaming about the utopia of moving along the timelines in our lives to avoid, prevent, retry or simple end with something that has beed hard for us to process.
Couples are a complex relation between two humans that choose to be together for different reasons. Each of us alone is complex enough. But when you add another person to the equation, it becomes a mix of fears, dreams, frustrations, doubts, laughs, and so on. We are emotionally involved together an evolving, and let’s face it. Nobody was born with a manual to guide us through life.
The song is about the moment when a relationship gets disconnected for any reason and ceases to feel as a single front. At some point this is absolutely normal. And just like our mood, it could be a temporal disconnection or an alert to fix things or realizing it’s time to let go. This song is made for the listener to relate in his/her own vivid experiences.
Macarena De Noia - Directing the music video.
When I contacted Macarena for a photoshoot, we instantly got along nicely sharing different ideas in a really nice creative process. Some days later it all evolved into the concept for the music video.
Since time is such a wonderful subject to experiment creatively, we decided to make the music video in “Stop Motion” and “Reverse Motion” using me and another person in the same space living through that temporal disconnection I was talking to you about before.
We did a casting looking for the woman to be a part of this music video and after analyzing a few entries from professional dancers and actresses, we decided that Flor Szklar was the right person for this project. Her background as an actress was notorious at the moment of showcasing emotion in every scene of her casting. And that is how she became a part of this project. When you are doing stop motion you are basically shooting photos so you oughta be really good exteriorizing emotions.
When searching for the right location we ended up with a very interesting place to shoot the whole video.
Malabia town is a temporal experiment. It used to be a small hotel in Palermo Soho that is going to be demolished in a year. Until then, it is inhabited by a group of cool gals and lads and a cute dog named as the famous brazilian musician, Caetano Veloso. The premises are up for renting for diverse artistic projects. It’s a wonderful place with gorgeous natural light.
Malabia Town will host a big party before the demolish. I think I will be attending to say good bye to the location of my first music video, a location that will be erased from the planet by the hands of time. It all makes sense don’t you agree?
